Carol Russell is a screenwriter and founder of Fresh Voices UK which amplifies the work of ethnically diverse screenwriters to the television industry. Her work includes principal scriptwriter of Comin’ Atcha Cleopatra; multi-award-winning, BAFTA-nominated drama series Soon Gone: A Windrush Chronicle. She was one of the BAFTA-nominated team of adapters of Jacqueline Wilson’s Story of Tracy Beaker. Carol is also a Stephen Lawrence Foundation Trust award winner.

Now Carol has teamed up with Jane Evans - one of her generation’s most successful advertising women, to write Invisible to Invaluable - Releasing the Power of Middle Aged Women. With personal stories, exciting research, and insights from a cast of inspirational women, Jane Evans and Carol Russell’s manifesto blows open the ageism that’s sidelined midlife women at work and in society.

We spoke to Carol to hear why she and Jane decided to speak up for middle aged women ...
